Suddenly I understood why my parents thought it was important to maintain this connection with our roots. A few years ago I felt the urge of visiting my roots on my own with the idea of building more self-consciousness. With the thought to immortalize the most precious moments, I took my camera with me and treated it as my most important piece of luggage.
Starting from that year, I started working out ideas and collecting inspiration for ElMouss Concept with the aim to pay tribute to my parents and to follow my passion.
ElMouss Concept is created out of passion for photography, roots and modesty in its entirety.
This passion was mostly triggered when I, as a daughter of an expat, started to consciously search for my roots a couple of years ago. From an early age we visited our roots every year but I never realized what it meant to me because it became such an annual routine that involved a lot of laughter, car trips, breathtaking views and family gathering.
As I grew older I became more aware that those annual trips back to the roots were actually a vital part of my identity building.
